A clinic success story

Dorothy contacted us on our Facebook page with this wonderful story about her experience at the ACT Clinic:

“About a year ago, we brought our 4 month old puppy, Reggae, and our 5 year old big guy, Rocco, in to be neutered. Needless to say, Rocco was VERY aware of what was missing afterwards, but the doctor was so sweet and tender with him, we knew he was in good hands! All of our after-care questions were answered and carefully explained. When we had a hiccup in the healing process, the staff at the ACT was quick to act and very supportive. Now we come to the ACT for all of our pack’s needs from flea meds to annual shots! Thank you so much!”

Thanks, Dorothy, for sharing your story. We wish you and your adorable pets the best of luck.

Help us raise much-needed funds

Do you enjoy meeting new people, experiencing the excitement of Election Day and helping ACT raise needed funds, all at the same time?  If so, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office Adopt a Precinct (AAP) Program may be just what you are looking for!

This program involves a partnership between the Supervisor of Elections Office and many non-profits such as ACT.  It works like this:  The Supervisor of Elections Office provides a 2 or 3-hour training, and then on Election Day (August 14, Primary Election, and November 6, General Election), you are assigned to work a precinct.  You can either work all day (about 14 hours) or a half-shift of 7 hours in which a partner would work the other half.  The funds you earn for working that day are paid directly to ACT which then puts the money to good use helping animals.  It’s a win-win proposition!

Interested?  Please contact us to let us know and we will forward your information to the Supervisor of Elections (SOE) Office.  The deadline for submitting this information to the SOE Office is May 1st so don’t delay.  Any questions or to sign up, please contact us at info@actampa.org or call (813) 250-1234.

Don’t live in Hillsborough County?  No problem!  Several other counties (including Pasco and Sarasota) have the AAP Program.  Not sure?  Just call your local SOE Office to find out.  We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Help us Save90!

For a decade now, we have been working to end the killing of healthy, adoptable, treatable dogs and cats in our community.  It has been a long decade. Some progress has been made, but not the kind of progress we are starting to see now.  There is reason for hope.  Please join us.  Without you, we cannot make it happen. We heard from Nathan Winograd last month, who gave us concrete evidence and examples of over 30 communities who have stopped the killing through a comprehensive 11-step program. Now, we’re taking it a step further and making it happen here.

Join us for the second installment of our Save 90 Conference
Saturday, April 14, 1:00 p.m
Hillsborough Community College (Dale Mabry Campus)
Student Services Building Auditorium
4001 W. Tampa Bay Blvd., Tampa

You will learn more about creating a more compassionate community for our four-legged friends.  Come join us as we work together to create positive change in our community.  Register for this FREE conference here.
