Angel’s Story Saves Other Shelter Dogs

November 22, 2008 at 1:09 pm 1 comment

Terri, the woman who originally got Angel out of the shelter on the east coast of Florida and brought her to Lisa and Art in Tampa, sends us this message about her progress:

Oh Lisa, She is looking so wonderful. Tell her thank you very much

for me and give her a kiss on that not so boney head of hers. I

think of her every day. She is such an inspiration. Also, last Sat

we received a little Rat Terrier mix at the shelter almost as skinny

as Angel but not anemic. Thanks to Angel, my boss let the Rat

Terrier (named Spunky) go to rescue immediately. Little Angel is

helping make some big changes at our shelter. She is proving to

everyone else at the shelter that if you just give them a chance

they can make it. Spunky owes his little life to Angel because if

not for her and her progress, he would have surely been put to

sleep. His new foster parents took him to the vet and he at one time

had a broken knee but it healed. He walks a little funny and is

still weak but he is making progress.

    from Angels foster dad:

Lisa and I can’t tell you in words how completely overwhelmed we have been at your tireless and relentless pursuit of the fundraising drives and media attention on behalf of Angel.

We don’t know what we could ever say or do to return the kindness and selflessness you have shown through all this. But some way, some day we will –

Thanks to you, we have now raised more than $3000 toward her care.
More than enough to cover her expenses and toys for a long time.

The community support, because to you, has come out big time. From 10’s and 20’s to 100’s, peopled poured their hearts out to save a little girl who needed them. And you are to thank for all of that.

E-mails, hugs and thank yous can’t begin to express our gratitude for all you have done to help save Angel.

But thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

    Art and Lisa

Angel got home and quickly went right to sleep after a big, long day.
I think I saw her smile as she dozed off….she knows, she knows…..
