Calling all ACT Clinic Clients

We’re making a story book about our clinic clients, and we want to feature your pet! Wouldn’t you love for your cat or dog to be published in a book for all to see? The book will be used to promote the clinic, and also as a fundraiser.

If you are interested in having your pet featured in the book, please follow these steps. The deadline has been extended to December 3.

  1. Email us a story about your pet that was fixed at the ACT Spay/Neuter Clinic (500 words or less). The story can be about anything you want – something cute your pet did, why you love your pet, why you decided to get your pet fixed, etc.
  2. Include a digital picture of your pet in the email.
  3. Download this waiver, sign it, and mail it to:
    ACT Spay/Neuter Clinic
    Attn: Megan Hendricks
    1719 W. Lemon St.
    Tampa, FL  33606
The deadline to send in your story, picture and waiver is December 3. We’ll let you know if your story is selected.

If you have any questions, please email us.

Angel’s Story Saves Other Shelter Dogs

Terri, the woman who originally got Angel out of the shelter on the east coast of Florida and brought her to Lisa and Art in Tampa, sends us this message about her progress:

Oh Lisa, She is looking so wonderful. Tell her thank you very much

for me and give her a kiss on that not so boney head of hers. I

think of her every day. She is such an inspiration. Also, last Sat

we received a little Rat Terrier mix at the shelter almost as skinny

as Angel but not anemic. Thanks to Angel, my boss let the Rat

Terrier (named Spunky) go to rescue immediately. Little Angel is

helping make some big changes at our shelter. She is proving to

everyone else at the shelter that if you just give them a chance

they can make it. Spunky owes his little life to Angel because if

not for her and her progress, he would have surely been put to

sleep. His new foster parents took him to the vet and he at one time

had a broken knee but it healed. He walks a little funny and is

still weak but he is making progress.

Pet Wash to Benefit Angel

Angel, an 18 month old pit bull, staggered up to a house on November 6 begging for help. She was thought to have been dumped from a car or truck, left to fend for herself. Nothing but skin and bones, she was cold to the touch with white gums, but still wagging her tail as if to express her will to live. After a vet’s evaluation and treatment she is expected to fully recover, but her surgery and treatment will cost at least $1,000. ACT is hosting a fundraiser on November 23 to help out.
