“Snip & Chip” – free microchips in time for hurricane season
June 2, 2009
This month, we’re offering a “snip & chip” special. Every pet that is spayed or neutered at the ACT Clinic during June 2009 will receive a free microchip at the time of surgery.
Additional tests, vaccines and pet products are available at our regular low prices. Appointments are required. Call the clinic at (813) 250-3900 to reserve an appointment, or visit www.actampa.org for additional information.
Why microchip? Hundreds of pets go missing each year. Emergency situations, like a hurricane can separate you from your four-legged friend in a matter of seconds. A microchip provides a permanent form of identification that cannot be altered.
About Microchipping: A microchip is a means of identification that contains a number unique to your pet. It’s about the size of a grain of rice. The microchip is inserted between the shoulder blades of a cat or dog using a needle, in a procedure similar to a vaccination. It takes just seconds. Once inserted, the chip remains under the skin for the entire life of the pet. The pet’s information is then entered into a national database. If your pet is lost, a shelter or veterinarian can scan the microchip and access the information.
